They are highly skilled at all levels of delivery, including freight, parcels and heavy goods. Richard Quayle
Owner & Managing Director
As owner and Managing Director, Richard oversees the strategic direction of the company. He started with the business in 1990 and worked his way up, so he understands exactly what it takes to maintain a business that customers can have faith in.
Jeanette Creer
Accounts Director
Our Accounts Director Jeanette started in 2007, and took a year’s maternity break in 2012. She keeps our books, manages key accounts, and helps with business development activities.
Dave Murray
Warehouse Manager
Dave joined the team in 2017. When he’s not at work, you’ll find him walking his dogs or playing music.
Michelle Lamb
Transport Administrator
Michelle joined us in 2018 as our Transport Administrator. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, walking the dog and getting out and about on her motorbike.
André Harview
HGV driver
André joined Island Express in 2015. His favourite saying is ‘teeeeeeea’ and his favourite thing is spending time with his family.

Stephen also joined the team in 2021. His favourite pursuit outside of work is socialising with friends and family.

Our fleet
Our entire delivery fleet operates under a strict maintenance regime, which fully complies with statutory regulations. We also run regular reviews of our expansion programme in both the UK and the Isle of Man, to give our customers that extra degree of confidence.
Our IOM fleet includes curtain-sided vehicles fitted with tail-lifts, enabling us to deliver pallets or larger items of freight where forklift trucks are not available. Our double-decked and curtain-sided 13.6m ‘Hi-Cube’ trailers ensure that our deliveries make it to and from the Island safely and securely. Our UK fleet of various sized commercial vehicles includes 17 and 7.5-tonne tail-lifts, and 44-tonne tractor units.
Our depots
Our UK depot is in Heywood Distribution Park, one of the best known industrial and distribution estates in the North West. Comprising over 2 million sq ft of built space spread across approximately 200 acres, the estate benefits from award winning 24/7 security and state-of-the-art facilities. Our purpose-built Isle of Man depot is at Peel Road Industrial Estate in Braddan, 10 minutes’ drive from the port of Douglas.
Our charities and causes
As well as working hard for our customers, we put a lot into supporting great causes. In March 2022 we packaged and transported two trailer loads of donations from Isle of Man residents to the Ukrainian Charity Distribution Centre, working with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and Express Parcel Services in Manchester. In 2015, we sent three van loads of clothes, camping gear, toiletries and food to help support Syrian refugees.
Among the many local charities, we support are Manx Breast Cancer Care, Sadies Rescue Animal Shelter and Arlo’s Adventures. We are also the main sponsor of Marown Football Club on the island.
